INSTALLATION BEHIND THE PRESS |
The modern board plants focus on maximum through put with a minimum of plant people around to monitor the production. New press lines might produce boards with speeds above 100 m/min. The risk for not discovering defects as they appear might be very costly especially if the boards are shipped directly to the customer or not corrected before the defect is discovered at the sander one or two days later.
The Argos system ensures that the control room receives instant information about the surface defects the very moment they appear. Having the correct information on hand, allows the plant personnel to take necessary and correct actions. |

INSTALLATION BEHIND THE SANDER
|
The combination of increased line speeds and higher surface quality, to meet the ever-increasing customer demands, makes it impossible for human operators to grade panels effectively. Installing an Argos Grading System behind the sander provides substantial cost savings both in labor, reduced customer claims and a better optimization of the products. It is not uncommon that defects in the raw board counts for up to 50 percents of the downgraded panels on lamination and print lines. Customized grading recipes ensures that only defects that are not acceptable in a product is downgraded in order to ensure the end-user with a consistent and predictable surface quality.
The Argos system eliminates the difference between the graders and the risk of letting serious defects through to the customer. Exact information about different defects and having images available to investigate problems, will allow the plant personnel to take quick actions in order to eliminate up-stream problems. An Argos system for surface inspection allows plant people to focus on uptime and throughput, instead of sitting idle looking for defects they have difficulty finding. |
